What to expect within your sessions

Initial Session

The first appointment involves working with your family to plan your child’s individualised service. Upon completion of a case history form, we will conduct informal observations and possibly a brief a screener assessment. This first session will be largely play-based, and have a focus on building a relationship with your child and family. It also provides important information to guide which formal assessments are necessary.

Assessment Session/s

Based on information gathered in the initial session, formal assessment will take place over one or more subsequent sessions. Assessments are important in understanding your child’s strengths and areas of need, and guide intervention planning. Assessment is followed by a comprehensive report (billed separately), as well as discussion with your family to establish some goals.

Therapy Sessions

After assessment, therapy sessions will provide evidence-based intervention that is focused on play and positive interactions. Sessions will incorporate fun learning opportunities in a supportive environment to help your child reach their goals.
